The Campaign.....

 I left home this morning and on my mailbox there was a piece of paper hanging on the red flag.  Curious, I took the paper off to see what it was.  My, oh my, it was a notice from the Ralls County Sheriff's Department telling me that they had patrolled my neighborhood!!!!!  At the top of the notice in GREAT BIG LETTERS - I was advised that Paul Forney was the current sheriff, so I guess I am to believe that Paul Forney is the first to implement the idea of patrolling the county. 

Then, I pick up the RCHE tonight and read it.  I always read through the sheriff's report, because believe it or not, thats how I find out what exactly happened with all the calls I receive at work.  I found it really informative.  I mean, really, since its been 7 or 8 months since someone's license plate was stolen, it makes it difficult to investigate?  And hey, what was the other one that caught my attention?  Oh, yeah, if it happens online at a casino in Canada, these cases are very hard to prosecute!!!  And since when did we get so detailed without telling the public anything at all? 

See, I wasn't going to write anything at all about any of this because I really shouldn't.  My common sense is telling me to delete this when I am done, but will I?  Oh, NO, I won't.  Why?  Because I don't like to listen to my common sense about 10% of the time.  And I am choosing for this to be a good 4% of the 10 I am going to ignore it this week.  I work for 911, I therefore work with Paul Forney - albeit in an indirect manner, so I really should be careful what I say and do.  Thats what most people tell me when I open my mouth.  And now I am meandering off of why I decided to write about this even though I shouldn't.

Ok, here is why.  It is painfully obvious to me that the Sheriff of our great county is using his position as a campaign stepping stone.  I really don't have a problem with that, I have a problem when he starts having deputies - who can be fired by another person if elected - leave little notices to citizens.  If his name hadn't been in great big capital letters across the top, I would have had no problem with this practice.  And I don't know who writes the press releases, unless it is the Sheriff himself, then I guess they could be fired by another person too, so why start dressing them up with details?

Just another piece of my mind while I sit here and ponder who I am going to vote for.....lol lol lol.

Don't forget to vote!!!  Its your right and you shouldn't complain about anything in government if you don't vote!!!
